Dryer Vent Blockage

Why a Dryer Vent Becomes Blocked

A blocked exhaust vent is one of the most common reasons a dryer underperforms, since it restricts the airflow the dryer relies on to carry moist air outside. Lint that escapes the lint trap collects inside the duct over months of normal use, and a duct that is crushed, kinked, or routed with too many bends behind the dryer traps buildup even faster. Outside, the exterior vent cap can become blocked by a bird nest, spider webs, or wind-driven debris, cutting off the exhaust path entirely from the outdoors. A blocked vent forces the dryer to run longer and hotter than it should, which is also a common trigger for a blown thermal fuse.

How San Marcos Appliance Repair Fixes It

A technician inspects the exhaust vent from the dryer connection to the exterior cap, clears lint and debris blocking airflow, and confirms proper exhaust velocity before returning the dryer to service. San Marcos Appliance Repair serves San Marcos and North San Diego County and backs every completed repair with a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Same-day appointments are available seven days a week. Call 760-621-5157 to schedule a technician today.
