Continuous Feed Disposal Repair
Repair for continuous feed disposals in San Marcos, CA, including wall-switch-operated residential and light commercial models from major disposal brands.
Repairing Continuous Feed Disposals
A continuous feed garbage disposal is the most common residential type, operated by a wall switch and run continuously while waste is fed into the unit. The motor drives a spinning flywheel that flings food waste against a stationary grind ring inside the grind chamber, while a reset button and overload protector shut the unit down before the motor overheats or trips a circuit. Because the switch stays on for as long as the unit runs, continuous feed models see more flywheel jams from utensils or fibrous scraps than batch feed units, since nothing blocks the drain opening while the disposal is in use. Common complaints on continuous feed models include humming without turning, tripped reset buttons, and leaks at the sink flange.
How San Marcos Appliance Repair Fixes It
A San Marcos Appliance Repair technician tests the motor, flywheel, and reset button and overload protector on-site to confirm which component has failed on a continuous feed disposal, then inspects the grind chamber for wear or debris before recommending a repair. San Marcos Appliance Repair carries common parts for major brands including InSinkErator, Waste King, GE, and Moen, and every completed repair includes a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Same-day appointments are available seven days a week across San Marcos and North San Diego County. Call 760-621-5157 to schedule a technician today.
Diagnosed by Certified Technicians
A technician evaluating the motor, flywheel, reset button/overload protector, and grind chamber on this repair holds NASTeC certification in appliance service and repair, trained through MiraCosta College's Technology Career Institute or San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) before joining the team led by founder and Master Appliance Repair Technician Francisco Ortega, who has run San Marcos Appliance Repair since 2006. That training is what backs the 90-day parts-and-labor warranty on every continuous feed disposal repair, backed by our licensed and insured guarantee.
